Dear members of CATS:

I trust that everyone has been doing well over the winter and 2012 has started out on the right foot.  We have been busy planning the next CATS meeting which is being held in Calgary September 14th and 15th, 2012.  On September 13th, the CATS postgraduate course will be on Surgical Education followed by the CATS research meeting in the afternoon.  Dr. Jim Luketich from the University of Pittsburgh has agreed to be the Pearson Lecturer.  As well, we have put together 2 excellent symposiums; one on Controversies in Thoracic Surgery and the second on Esophageal Cancer.  Drs. Sean Grondin and Sean McFadden have been busy helping with the local planning both of the course as well as the CATS dinner which continues to be well attended and enjoyed by all.

Please be on the lookout for announcements from CSF regarding the course and we look forward to seeing everyone in Calgary in September.

Sincerely,

Your President

Donna E. Maziak
